House Conservatives want to cut Child and Elderly Programs Instead of Nuclear Stockpiles

House Republicans are asking low- and middle-income families to sacrifice health care and basic services to preserve redundant defense systems:
- They are prepared to slash funding for child and elder abuse prevention, Meals on Wheels, and foster care to keep a helicopter that costs five times as much as similar models yet is not much more effective.
- They are willing to raise taxes on the families of 5.5 million low-income children to purchase two submarines that are unnecessary to maintain our naval superiority.
- They are ready to force hundreds of thousands of working families to forgo health coverage in order to block any cuts to a nuclear stockpile whose size is largely a relic of the Cold War.
Here’s the background: The House Republican budget instructs the Ways and Means Committee to find $53 billion in savings in order to “protect national security from deep and indiscriminate cuts” that would otherwise take place in January 2013 due to the debt deal agreed to last summer. On April 17 the committee set forth their package, which exceeded the target. It proposes $68 billion in cuts and tax increases for low- and middle-income Americans.

Yes, it’s true. The Conservative SHOCK JOCK, in what some political pundits are calling the worst act of partisan terrorism that the United States has ever seen, has joined the Democratic Party.
The redemptive move has created a marriage of sorts with the think tanks at MSNBC, who, only moments ago, announced that Limbaugh would be the new co-anchor of the Rachel Maddow Show. The new format, debuting later this month, will feature Limbaugh’s LIVE baptism performed by the host of Politics Nation, Reverend Al Sharpton.
MSNBC execs are troubled by the reactions of the stars of some of their most popular shows:
Chris Matthews’ the host of HARDBALL, tweeted this morning that “ I don’t care if he is baptized by the POPE; I am LEAVING the moment Limbaugh sets foot in the building.
Lawrence O’Donnell could not be reached for comment, but a press release issued earlier this morning stated that O’Donnell was rushed to a local hospital after staffers reportedly discovered him in a hypnotic state repeating the words, “Hydrocodone and arsenic”.
Ed Schultz, for the first time in his career was rendered speechless with the exception of murmuring something about “backwoods justice.”
Despite the harsh reactions of some, network execs insist that “Maddow is excited about the new format.” However, sources closest to Maddow say that she will issue a formal statement as soon as they can talk her down from the ledge of her condo.
