PISSED OFF RANT ALERT (motivated by a recent browse-by of the Conservative Tribune Face Book page):
A simple Google search of the phrase “Banned from praying” produces roughly 75 million results. Most of the complainers are Christian. And yet most Christians do not even know what the Bible says about praying in public.
Christians, allow me to clear this up for you.
[A-hem] Ladies and Gentlemen, please open your bibles and kindly turn to Matthew 6:5-6…
READ THIS PASSAGE ALOUD WITH ME: “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
What this means folks, is that you don’t have to make a public display of your secret conversations with the imaginary sky fairy.
What Would Jesus Do? Well, I think I just cleared that up for you.
